My life-long friend, Annette, and I started selling handmade jewelry when we were in the 4th grade (1965) as a way to earn money to attend Girls Scout summer camp. We made flower pins out of tissue paper that we would glaze so they would be shiny and stiff. Our moms would take orders from the ladies they worked with and sell them for us. We did that for many years and always made enough money to pay for our camp and our uniforms and supplies. In junior high and high school, we would make leather headbands, macrame chokers and wristbands, leather hair accessories...um..yeah...hippie jewelry! We called our little business IOTA, meaning something small. If you see @happy_camper_annette liking and following my Instagram posts, say hello...that's my friend Annette!
Fast forward to 2017! Although I haven't done a whole lot of it over the last several years, I'm still making and selling jewelry but now it's hand stamped metal and it's pretty fun! I take custom orders and I also make non-custom to sell at some local Farmers' Markets.
So, hear are some photos of hand stamped metal jewelry that I've made lately. Let me know what you think in the comments section.
